Review and Guest Post Policy

Part of the work that I do here at A Passion to Understand is to draw attention to the wealth of knowledge and information contained across the full spectrum of multimedia. To this end, I attend film screenings, review documentaries, films and books and share videos and other resources for my readers. I welcome and encourage PR contact and am more than happy to be added to mailing lists for events or releases.

Film Screenings and Documentaries

I can attend screenings in London but am also happy to view online or DVD screeners.

Book Reviews

I accept books in both electronic and print format. Books on genocide, conflict, international development, history, racism or any of the topics relevant to this blog will be accepted. Personal biographies are especially relevant. I will accept fiction but the primary focus is on non-fiction.

Interviews

I conduct both author and key contact interviews. Given that many of my readers are in high school or college, I have a keen interest in speaking to people about their work in charities and international agencies and about how young people can become involved in these fields.

Previous interviewees include Mark S. Smith, author of Treblinka Survivor: The Life and Death of Hershl Sperling and Dr. Ajaz Khan of Lendwithcare.org.

Guest Posts

I am very interested in publishing guest posts from other bloggers, activists, key contacts, students and other interested parties. You can write on any topic relevant to the blog, from both a historical or current point of view.  Please note that this is primarily an educational blog and writing should be appropriate for school or university students.

Please note that I do not accept sponsored posts or advertising on this blog and guest posts will not include links to commercial organisations. I will accept posts from writers representing charities or non-profit organisations about the issues that they are facing or the work that they do.

An example of an excellent and appropriate guest post is: An Examination of the Genocide in Darfur.

Features

I am certainly interested in writing features on charities and relevant organisations and will often tie this in with an interview. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you would like to be considered for inclusion.
